LastQuake

LastQuake is the official app of the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center designed to alert the population in real-time of earthquakes that occur and collect their statements to help others to take action. The tool will send you an alert the moment an earthquake occurs near you and allow you to send emergency messages or receive safety advice.

The first thing you will have to do when you download the app is to indicate your location. Thanks to your geolocation, LastQuake will alert you to any earthquake that occurs within a certain radius near you, but you can also check all seismic activity on the planet regardless of location. From the tool's main window, you can directly access all the earthquake records in real-time, their magnitude, proximity to your position and the time that has passed since the last earthquake in the area.

If you want to find out more information about a specific earthquake, tap on its file to access the details. Within each one, you can see the date, time and exact coordinates of the earthquake's epicenter, its depth, its distance to the nearest cities and the population of each one. In addition to this, each record includes comments from other users, photos taken by them and a map with the area's hot spots.

Similarly, LastQuake also lets you leave comments on each earthquake to give more details about what happened to researchers and users. To do this, open the record file of the tremor you felt and click on the lower red button. Once on the part where you can describe what happened, it is recommended that you match the parameters indicated by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center; indicate the type of tremor you felt through an image and add your comment.

Finally, LastQuake lets you create custom alerts to receive messages whenever an earthquake occurs near you, regardless of the quake's magnitude.
